Uni Bosses Defend Decision To Suspend Students

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

University of Sussex bosses have been defending their decision to suspend 6 of their students.

They've made the move after the occupation of one of their buildings last week.

People were protesting against planned cutbacks.

Officials say they're taking steps to help the suspended students complete their courses, and have nothing against peaceful protest.

A uni spokesman says their staff felt threatened by those taking part in the occupation.
